BIOGRAPHY
For this week, Soompi’s featured artist is the hip-hop duo, Supreme Team. The name Supreme Team may sound a bit cocky to some, but it somehow aptly describes these two extremely talented young musicians. The duo is comprised of Simon D, a captivating rapper and husky-voiced vocalist, and E-Sens, nicknamed Korea’s Eminem with his witty and biting lyrics. The combination of these two explosive talents has created Supreme Team, which has dominated the underground music scene in Hongdae bars and clubs.

They debut with with an EP, released September 2009, with song title Super Magic which received good reviews from critics. After beating out various idols to win the Best New Male Artist at the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards, the up-and-coming hip-hop duo dropped their first full-length album, Supremier, in March. Produced by Primary, the album brought out the group’s tough but stylish appeal through old-school tunes like their main track, Step Up, and featured guest artists like Brian, Tablo, and Dynamic Duo’s Choiza and Gaeko.

Their first album hopes to incorporate not only the manic fans of underground hip hop, but also the general public into their musical world.

The group recently released their first album repackage Spin Off, which comes with three new songs–“Dang, Dang, Dang” and “Super Lady”–plus a “Step Up” remix track. This album also includes the “dirty” versions of “Respect My Money” and “Shinobi” instead of Supremier’s “clean” versions.

This duo have also kept themselves busy by becoming regular guests on Kim Bum Soo’s Dream Radio and variety show. We hope they can produce more great music and collaborate with more artists!
