Announcing Soompi Ulzzang Contest 2010 Sponsored by Sidus iHQ

Soompi has teamed up with Sidus iHQ to bring you an opportunity like you’ve never seen before!

This year, the Soompi Ulzzang Contest 2010 is being sponsored by C.A.S.T., the talent casting and training program of Sidus iHQ. Yes, that’s right! The very same company that signed one of our favorite b-boys, Jay Park. And now, you will have the chance to become a star with Sidus too!

As the final prize for this year’s competition, C.A.S.T. will be directly reviewing the photos of the winners for potential admission into their prestigious training program. So read the entry details carefully and enter for your chance to become a Korean pop star! You do not have to be Korean or Asian to enter C.A.S.T. is looking for diverse applicants!

Note: To address comments abt why this contest is about beauty and presence – this is the Ulzzang Competition, which is a modeling competition. We have other contests in Soompi which are for singing, dancing like the amazing Soompi Idol contest where Soompiers can show their awesome talents. So keep an eye out for those contests as well ^^

Entries must be received by Monday, September 20. Good luck to everyone!

UPDATE ON VOTING:

Due to the large number of entries in the Soompi Ulzzang Contest 2010,  we have restructured the voting groups to ensure that our public voting  system works optimally.  Because there were over 400 female entrants,  the girls will have a judges’ round.  The boys will move straight to  community voting.

Also, please note, we will be monitoring the IP addresses of all votes. If vote spamming occurs, votes from that IP address will be eliminated and any Soompi user from that IP address may be banned.

Girls’ Round 1 – Judges’ Round (to begin next week)
All  Soompi staff members (comprising forum and fan club moderators, writers  and editors, admins, and coders) will judge in the round.  To ensure fair voting, judges will not see user names while voting. One photo will  be shown per entrant.

200 girls will advance to the next round.

Girls’ Round 2 – Bracket Round
The 200 contestants will be divided into four groups of 50 each.  All Soompiers will be able to vote.

Ten semifinalists from each group will advance to the next round, for a total of 40 semifinalists.

Girls’ Round 3 – Elimination Round
Sidus iHQ will have the option of bringing back two contestants who did not  previously advance, for a possible total of 42 semifinalists.  All  Soompiers will be able to vote.
