Lee Min Ki Cast As a California Drifter
Lee Min Ki has been selected to headline the movie “Road to Utah,” which is a project that re-teams him with director Kim Jung Joong, with whom he worked on one of his previous movies, “Oishii Man“.
Sounds like Lee Min Ki is perfect for the role of K, a wanderer who has become lost in gambling and drinking. In Los Angeles, K has a chance meeting with Jin Yi, a woman with no hope and a rare disease who decides to go on one last trip before she dies. The two end up heading for Utah, and the movie is about what unfolds along the way.
The female lead has not been cast; producers have announced that they would pick their leading lady from an open casting call, looking everywhere from established actresses to rookies. They are looking for a “fresh face who isn’t typical of current actresses,” and casting will continue through early October.
“Road to Utah” will film in California (do we need to worry about some, uh, enthusiastic fans resorting to some stalker action?), and plans to begin shooting in mid-October.
