"Iris: The Movie" Will Be Released Early Next Week
The movie version of the blockbuster drama “Iris” will be released next week. “Iris: The Movie” will be available for download through distribution company cine21i on November 22, according to the drama’s producer, Taewon Entertainment. It will be available through IPTV, cable networks, and a hundred websites.
“Iris: The Movie” will be a feature-length edit of the TV series, which aired in between October and December 2009. It will include additional scenes that will expand upon the original story and reveal the truth about the death of one of the characters. The original drama starred an ensemble cast, including Lee Byung Hun, Kim Tae Hee, Jung Joon Ho, Kim Seung Woo, Kim So Yeon, and Big Bang’s T.O.P. It was one of the most expensive Korean dramas ever produced, with a budget of 20 billion won ($17 million USD), and was a critical and commercial success in Korea, garnering an average viewership of over 30%, and ranking as the top program every week after its debut.
