Actor Kim Sung Min Arrested for Methamphetamine Use
Kim Sung Min has been arrested for possession and usage of methamphetamine. The 36-year-old actor was arrested on Friday at home in Seoul. Prosecutors stated that Kim had confessed to purchasing the drug overseas and smuggling it into Korea.
Although his entertainment agency would not comment other than to say that they could not confirm anything at this point in time, Kim took to his Twitter account that day to apologize to his family, friends, and fans.
He wrote, “I’m sorry. To everyone who will be disappointed and hurt because of me, to my family and everyone I love…”
Kim Sung Min debuted as a stage actor in 1995 and has since appeared in many movies and dramas, including “Lotus Family”, “Glory of the Family”, and “What’s for Dinner?” At the time of his arrest, his popularity was on the rise, as he had been appearing on the much-watched reality show “Happy Sunday”. However, producers have since fired Kim and cut out all of his scenes in last weekend’s episode.
