Rain Cleared of Embezzlement Charges

The Seoul Central Prosecutors’ Office has ruled that Rain is not guilty of embezzlement charges.

Last April, a fabric manufacturing company filed a lawsuit against the singer and actor, as well as his company, claiming that they had suffered financial losses due to J.Tune’s fashion affiliate, J.Tune Creative.

The fabric company stated that they invested two billion won in J.Tune Creative, but that Rain and other J.Tune Creative shareholders had embezzled the money.  They stated that J.Tune had falsely registered the company’s stock assets and claimed that Rain’s modeling fees were worth two billion won.

The office ruled that Rain’s modeling fees for three years was not excessive and that the claim regarding registering the stock assets was false.

However, they indicted two J.Tune officials for embezzling 900 million won.
