Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2011 – February Week 3

No one can beat Secret’s “Shy Boy” these days. This week, the four-membered group stayed strong and just barely edged out G.NA’s “Black & White” by seven points to win the top spot for the fifth straight week. Since Secret is still promoting “Shy Boy”, the girls have a chance to be on top again for the sixth week next week. Only one other girl group has accomplished this feat in the history of our chart – that was Wonder Girl’s “Tell Me”.

Comment: Singers Suh Young Eun, Kim Hyun Joong (MAC), and Jace have come together for a winter project, “Winter&Color Story 2.” In 2008, Brown Eyed Soul’s Young Jun, Bubble Sisters’ Kang Hyun Jung, Son Ho Young, and Lee Hyun Wook took part in the first Winter&Color Story project which was created by A&G Modes who wanted to depict the pain and bitterness experienced by couples during tough times. The title track this time around is, “Pinkie Swear” which was composed by Kim Wonee who based the song on her personal life. Suh Young Eun and Kim Hyun Joong’s emotional vocals as well as female rapper, Jace’s rap is expected to capture listeners’ hearts. (credits to motoway065 for translations)
