Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2011 - February Week 4
Just when we thought that Secret’s “Shy Boy” continue their winning streak due to their wins on Music Bank and Inkigayo last week, G.na’s “Black & White” easily unseated the five-time champion by a wide margin to become the new No. 1 song on our chart. It is the first No. 1 song by the talented solo artist.
Two new songs debuted straight into the top 10. We thought that IU’s new song “Story Only I Didn’t Know” would be the highest debut. Instead, 8Eight’s Lee Hyun surprised us with a top 5 debut on his new song “You Are The Best Of My Life” while IU settled for No. 9 this week. In the long term though, IU’s song should have better potential to become No. 1.
Another new song worth noticing is After School leader Kahi’s first solo debut “Come Back You Bad Person”. Known as one of the best female dancers in k-pop, she is showing a different side on her album in which she not only sings, but also raps, and pens lyrics. She debuts at No. 15 this week.

Comment: Debuting back in 1998, Kim Hyun Jung was among the first generation of k-pop’s female dancer/singers. She is well known for her long legs and also has a very strong voice for a being a dance-style singer. “Bruise” was from her third album in 2000 and was probably her biggest hit. Even though she is not considered a top tier singer, she has produced many hit songs over the years and remains active. Recently, she comes back with her latest hit “One Minute One Second”.
