Jang Geun Seok Promotes Seoul Makgeolli in Japan

Japanese beverage company Suntory signed Jang Geun Seok as its main model for its new drink Seoul Makgeolli (makgeolli is an alcoholic rice beverage native to Korea). Jang has gained enormous popularity in Japan for his role in SBS drama “You’re Beautiful” (2009). Jang’s commercial for Seoul Makgeolli is currently hitting the airwaves in Japan.

 A video of Jang Geun Seok explaining the proper way to enjoy makgeolli is available on Suntory’s official homepage. Fans can also hear Jang’s new song “Bye Bye Bye” in the short clip.

 Jang Geun Seok stated, “This is a good opportunity to spread knowledge about our native drink. Makgeolli is starting to gain awareness in Japan, and I hope the people here grow to love it as the Koreans do.”
