Kangta Performs at the 2011 Boao Forum of Asia
Kangta, the leader of iconic 90s boy band H.O.T., participated in the opening ceremony concert for the 2011 Boao Forum of Asia (BFA) in Hainan, China. The BFA is an international forum for leaders from the government or business industry in Asia and is modeled after the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The BFA was founded in 2001 and is in its 10th year running. World leaders like the Chinese President Hu Jintao, South Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang Sik, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, South African President Jacob Zuma, and Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Yanovych Azarov, attended the international conference. The opening concert of the 2011 BFA is expected to be made into a DVD.
Kangta was the sole Korean music artist to have been invited to the BFA. Since his military discharge on February 19th, Kangta has been busy with his solo concert in China as well as various drama and movie productions. He is expected to begin filming his new Chinese historical drama titled the Violin shortly. Kangta will play King Wangmang, an advocate of political reform, in the drama.
