BIOGRAPHY
Soompi artist for May 2011 is 4Minute. They are the first female group from Cube Entertainment and debuted in 2009 with their hit single ‘Hot Issue’. These five ladies of the group are Ji Hyun, Ga Yoon, Ji Yoon, So Hyun, and HyunA. They debuted during a very competitive year of girl groups, along with 2NE1, After School, T-Ara, Secret, f(x), Rainbow and others.

Since their debut, they have released one studio album, three EP albums and two digital singles in Korea. With their growing popularity, they eventually ventured out to Japan and released several singles.

In just a short time, these girls become popular with their catchy tunes and sexy dances moves. 4minute differs from other girl groups with their fierce image on stage but cute and lovely off stage.

They announced their comeback for 2011 with their single with the title track “Heart To Heart” in March. Fans were surprised by the light and flirty character of the song with the music video featuring CN BLUE’s Jungshin.

In April, 4Minute released their first full-length album after a year-long hiatus in K-Pop. According to Cube Entertainment, they paid extra attention bringing out the members growth and charms in their individual style.

While starting their comeback they become a hot issue with their dance routine for “Mirror Mirror”. They received criticisms from stations for their too sexy dance or spread legs movement along with their short outfits during live performances.

This week, their comeback song “Mirror Mirror” became their first number one song on our soompi charts, going up against very popular groups.

Despite the controversies, the girls have continued to work hard to make sure that they live up to the expectations of their beloved fans.
