
Jang Geun Suk’s Debut Album Takes No. 1 Spot on Japan’s Oricon Chart
Multi-entertainer Jang Geun Suk is definitely one of the hottest hallyu stars. While he is currently busy touring various Asian countries with his “The Cri Show,” his debut album managed to make history. Jang Geun Suk’s debut album “Let Me Cry” has claimed the number one spot on Japan’s Oricon chart. His album managed to sell over 119K copies within the first week of its release. This is only the second time in the history of Oricon charts that a male solo artist managed to take the top spot with his debut single – Masahiko Kondo was the first in December of 1980.
Jang Geun Suk has managed to win the hearts of his Japanese fan through his drama “You’re Beautiful.” He’s also made his presence familiar in Japan with various endorsements like Santori Seoul Makgeolli, Nature Republic, and Lotte Duty Free. Additionally, his drama “Mary Stayed Out all Night,” starring Korea’s national little sister Moon Geun Young, will hit the Japanese airwaves May 20th. It’s foreseeable that Jang Geun Suk’s popularity will continue to rise once this drama starts airing.
