Disclaimer: this list is based on the author’s own opinion. If you disagree with me, tell me about it! This list will only contain sexy dances done by girl groups. The criterion I have chosen requires that the girl group has a certain kind of dance that is sexy and catchy.

Imagine a vacuum in space where Britney Spear‘s “Oops! I Did it Again” is mixed in together with Christina Aguilerra‘s “Dirrty.” Garnish that mixture with a little bit of Madonna and you have many of K Pop girl groups and their sexy concepts.

Korea’s bar for what is acceptable on broadcasted television is constantly being pushed up and up, with controversies occurring whenever a girl group goes too far. For all of these bodacious girl groups who make life more bearable for those in the Korean military and also for single men everywhere, I submit my tribute! Let the dancing begin!

Baby V.O.X’sGet Up

Hopefully too much of you won’t be scratching your head and wondering “WHO?” Well Baby V.O.X was pretty much the beginning of girl groups and sexy concepts in general. The producer of Baby V.O.X is also behind RaNia. It didn’t feel right writing this article while leaving out the mother of K Pop sexy dances. I will save my critique because they are really outdated, but hope you can still enjoy!

Kara’s “Mister”

It’s an understatement to say that Kara’s “Mister” was a big hit. Kara’s “Butt Shaking Dance” was contagious and made everyone drool. It’s still amazing how a girl group looking so cute and also pull off sexy at the same time. The dance itself could easily fall under the trap of looking cheap, but somehow the whole concept fits in and they still seem cute and innocent.

F(x)’s “Nu Abo

For “Nu Abo” f(x) had an interesting “makeup dance” where they look like they’re looking into a mirror doing makeup. Pretty much the only reason that this group is on this list is because there is a dance part where all the members lift up their shirts. Many uncle fans and normal fans alike seemed to love it when Krystal would do this part, because her shirt was always looser. Eventually this became a concept and Krystal would always get a shirt that was easy to lift up.

Besides that, Nu Abo isn’t really “sexy” material as the girl group itself seems very young and their dance routine is not provocative either. Also, I’m not a fashion expert but I never really liked the punk/hip-hop/urban weird outfit these girls are wearing.

After School’s “Bang!

Super Junior’s Shindong and many other may be crazy about this concept and their drumming but the first time I watched them I was thinking, “WHAT?” I really dig the uniforms and the song itself is a bit annoying but very contagious at the same time. There aren’t any catchy dance moves and they do moves that everyone else seems to do. I don’t have much more to say.

4 Minute’s “Mirror Mirror

Oooh Wee!!!! 4 Minute has definitely caught everyone’s attention with their music video dance scene which has been dubbed, “The Leg Spreading Dance.” At first the dance was very shocking, and I can understand why they have been blocked from doing the dance live. (In Korean standards, this is a big nono) They are dangerously close to the line of giving off a “cheap” image. But I wonder, if it really is all that bad. That’s just probably my hormones talking to me. Anyways, their concept fits in very well and I like their weird flashing-neon-light-disc things that they turn on and off.

Brown Eyed Girls’ “Abracadabra

Mama Mia! Brown Eyed Girls and Kara were duking it out with their hips as these two groups competed with their sexy dances. This hip dance itself also has the same effect as Kara, just a tad bit differently though. If Kara is cute and sexy, Brown Eyed Girls is downright sexy with a bit of flair. Something about their whole dance routine is erotic and sensual but it doesn’t come off as “cheap.”

SNSD’s “Hoot

James Bond films are popular for their gadgets and action. Hah! You can never leave out the bond girls when you talk about 007. SNSD has pretty much fulfilled every man’s dream by going with concepts ranging from stewardess, cheerleader, to bond girl. Out of these different concepts, “Hoot” made the list because bond girls are sexy. They are sexy, sophisticated, and dangerous. The arrow dance itself is contagious and their costumes always fit the bill.

Miss A’s “Breathe

Miss A barely made it on their list because the image they give off isn’t really sexy, it’s more cute. JYP was probably trying to grab the male viewer’s attention because there’s a dance move where all the girls are putting their hands right below their chest. Of course it is to signify that they need air or cannot breathe, but we all know most songs have double meanings. Otherwise they don’t really have a strong “concept” persay.

RaNia’s “Dr. Feel Good

RaNia’s concept is “Sexy-dol” they are sexy idols and their performance for “Dr. Feel Good” really lives up to the name. They are very reminscient of the Pussy Cat Dolls and are also going for a warrior dominatrix look. Every single one of them are dressed like they came out of the Matrix. Any or every aspect of sexy dancing you’ve seen from spreading legs, pelvis thrusts, to booty shaking you can find all of it here. Too sexy for Korea? That is a question yet to be answered.

Secret’s “Madonna

Secret’s “Madonna” has a catchy tune and also they are dressed up as divas that shake their thang! However in terms of sexiness, they don’t have much appeal compared to other groups and their sexy concepts. The dance like many other K Pop groups have catchy aspects however they are singing “Madonna” and “Hot Hot Hot.” They could have done a lot more with their song and dances and the performance itself isn’t very memorable.

T-ara’sCrazy Because of You

T-ara had many different concepts that were within the range of cute, and for the song “Crazy Because of You” they were definitely aiming for a sexy concept. They brought out a chair/bench in order to power up this sexy concept, which is sadly not used enough. Otherwise their dance performance is very strong and powerful. The dance is pretty contagious but again for some reason this dance isn’t as catchy as some of the other groups. (I think they should have used the chair more to their benefit)
