Celeb Style File: Yoon Eun Hye

Celeb Style File is our weekly in-depth look at a celebrity’s real-life style.  This week, we’ve chosen to feature the beautiful yet cute Yoon Eun Hye, who most recently starred in the chick flick “My Black Minidress” (although, no, we don’t have any pictures of her wearing a black minidress).  Here we look at her public appearances during the past year.

Although she is now a well-known actress, Yoon Eun Hye debuted in 1999 as the “maknae” (youngest member) of Baby VOX, a girl group which had already released two marginally successful albums at that point.  Although Yoon Eun Hye’s distinct ingenue image made her seem ill-fitted to a group known for its sexy costumes and dance moves, her debut marked the group’s first breakthrough success in record sales and chart rankings.  In case you’re tempted to dismiss this as coincidence, consider this: as difficult as it can be for any idol group member to transition from music to acting, Yoon Eun Hye has not only established herself as a solid actress, but has also been crowned “the drama ratings queen” — for consistently appearing in dramas that wind up enjoying high viewership ratings.

In other words, this girl clearly has star quality!  Take a look at these images from some of her recent photoshoots — completely stunning, right?  Yet, in real life, we personally think Yoon Eun Hye sometimes appears a bit unpolished in comparison.  Part of this might be due to her youth — unlike Celeb Style File predecessors Ha Ji Won and Kim Tae Hee, it doesn’t seem that Yoon Eun Hye has locked into a singular style just yet.  But that’s not a problem — we actually believe that her chameleon-like ability to transform from “girl with whom we can identify” into “girl we would kill to look like” is exactly why she brings in the ratings.  Check it out.  This is a girl who goes from baggy t-shirt and denim cutoffs (girl next door!), to ladylike polka dots and pink heels (socialite!), to unstructured ivory silk and an elegant undo (princess!), to fake fur vest with black hose and ankle boots (bohemian!).  Now that’s range.

“Lie to Me” press conference, wearing Burberry Prorsum S/S 2011 RTW

Hexa by Kuho F/W 2011 RTW show, wearing Hexa by Kuho S/S 2011

2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards, wearing Dolce & Gabbana

W Korea “Love Your W” breast cancer charity event, wearing Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 RTW

Vogue Fashion’s Night Out party

Chanel F/W 2010 party, wearing Chanel

Our personal favorites are the Hexa by Kuho evening outfit (she looks amazing!), and actually, the navy blue long-sleeved dress with black peep-toe heels.  Maybe it’s the hair, but we just think she’s pulling it off.  Our least favorite look — well, we have a few that we don’t really get, but probably the worst, for us, has to be the Louis Vuitton outfit — it does make her bustline look killer, but we just don’t think the proportions and color are all that flattering, not to mention her hair.

As always, if you have suggestions for celebrities to feature, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate!  See you next weekend!
