T-ara Signs with Toshiba EMI Japan
T-ara has signed a contract with Toshiba EMI and J-ROCK in preparation for their nearing Japanese debut. Their 350 million Yen (approximately 4.7 Million USD) contract is the largest and most expensive agreement for a Korean girl group in Japan.
According to Core Contents media, they have also signed a management and marketing deal with J-ROCK. In a statement recently released, they explained that, “T-ara’s major label in Japan will be Toshiba EMI while the management and marketing is responsible by Johnny’s Entertainment’s Smile Company. J-ROCK also has plans of pursuing a multi-deals together in Korea, with T-ara getting involved in dramas, MCing, singing, movies, etc.”
The group is now preparing for their upcoming showcase at Tokyo’s SHIBUYA-AX on July 5th, which will signal the beginning of their full-scale Japanese activities.
