Jang Geun Suk Holds First Fan Meeting in Malaysia
Jang Geun Seuk held his The Cri Show Live in Malaysia last week. The showcase was held at Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on June 4th. Before the event, he had a private fan meet session.
The doors opened at 5:30 PM with the 3,000 capacity hall gradually filling up. While waiting for the show to start, the big screen kept on playing few of current Jang Geun Suk CF clips, exciting the many fans waiting for him to come out.
The show started as he appeared on the stage, singing “Let Me Cry” and “Oh My Darling.” He greeted his fans in Malay, English and Korean, saying he was so happy to see the fans in Malaysia for the first time. After that there was a talk session with the MC, Owen Yap, and the interpreter for the Stage 1. Jang introduced himself again as fans cheered for him. While everything was mostly in English, the intrepreter helped when there were difficult words to express in English.
The talk session continued with Jang talking about his works and latest updates. He had just released a Japanese single titled “Let Me Cry” that had became popular in Japan. He also mentioned briefly about his visit to Europe for a project, visiting several countries while there.
Apparently this was for his next project, J Diary, which is his video album that took about 45 minutes. It will also show the intimate side of Jang Geun Suk. There also will be J in Europe, a pictorial album that will show fans about his adventure in Europe.
Everyone was wondering about the CRI Show’s meaning, to which Jang answered that Cri stands for the words Critical, as he wants to show fans the critical side of himself.
For the next session, Stage 2, he started by singing songs from the “Marry Me, Mary” drama, which were “My Bus” and “Hello Hello.” He changed his suit for this particular segment. Later they continued to have a small chat session. When he was asked about what he liked about this drama, he said that he chose it because it was close to his real lifestyle. He also said he wanted to get married as early as Moo Kyul, which got a huge response from fans. He added that it will be a bit difficult as he doesn’t have a girlfriend yet.
Another question was which type of girl that he would choose between: Mi Nam or Mary? He picked Mary because he likes a feminine girl. When he was asked about his dating rumor with Park Shin Hye, he mentioned that they only went out in the drama.
For Stage 2 “You’re Beautiful,” video highlights were played which received lots of cheering from fans. Jang Geun Suk came back to the stage again and was introduced as Hwang Tae Kyung by the MC. A change of outfit completed his persona as Hwang Tae Kyung.
This was the start for games session with the fans for You Are So Beautiful Girl. Three lucky girls were picked by Hwang Tae Kyung to play the Q&A games. The lucky girls needed to answer the correct questions based on the drama, and fans that had the correct answer received presents from Jang Geun Suk. One lucky fan also got hugged by him. He ended the session by singing “Still“ from the drama OST.
Stage 4 was prepared for the Lounge H segment. This is when “Jang Geun Suk the actor and singer” transformed to “Jang Geun Suk the DJ”. This time he changed into a white leather outfit and teamed up with Big Brother for Team H. The atmosphere quickly transitioned to a party mode with the laser beaming and lights changing. The electro and techno music made made many fans get up and dance.
Jang Geun Suk took his staff onstage to dance together. He also played with a flash light and aimed it to the audiences while showing off his DJ-ing skills with the turntable. They played songs titled Seungriharira, Gotta Getcha and Shake It. Both of them mentioned that Team H would debut soon with an album release and asked fans to support them.
A video was playing The Cri Show Back Stage Story, which showed Jang Geun Suk rehearsing and preparing for the showcase on each stop for his Asia Tour. He come out again and gave his last messages to his fans. He mentioned that this Malaysia stop reminded him of his first fanmeeting in Japan and he felt grateful towards his fans support all the time. He also added that, “This is the reason why I can never get a rest.” He sang his last song “My Precious“ as gratitude for the fans.
Even after he left the stage, fans still sat in the hall, calling out for his name. He came back again with a t-shirt saying “I ♡ Fan” and sang “Promise.” The show ended and fans were really satisfied with showcase, as videos with English subtitles played in the back.
