Kim Yuna and IU's MV for "Ice Flower" has been released

Kim Yuna and IU from SBS’s “Kiss & Cry” recently released their duet track, “Ice Flower,” for SBS’s “Kiss & Cry.”

It was first revealed during the show on June 19th, despite being recorded almost ten days before. The track produced by Lee Min Soo, who has previously composed songs for IU and Brown Eyed Girls, will be used as the show’s new theme song.

The track shows that Kim’s vocals are comparable to IU’s, and representatives of the show said, “On-site staff were surprised, as normally it takes at least to hours, but with Kim and IU, the recording went smoothly, only taking only one hour.”

“Ice Flower” expresses a message of hope, asking everyone to overcome his or her obstacles. The lyrics were meant as a metaphor to the hardships that figure skaters themselves endure, some of which have caused controversy in the past.

Figure skaters do not have their own ice rink to train in, and must share the rink with hockey players. This often results in the skaters travelling to different ice rinks after hours, and training late at night.

Kim and IU have decided that the profits made from the tracks will be donated to help support the cause, and provide better training environments for figure skaters in Korea.
