Big Bang Wins Lawsuit Against Japanese Publishing Company

It was reported that today, the Tokyo District Court settled the lawsuit case filled by Big Bang against a Japanese publishing company for the unauthorized use of their photos.

On November 20th of last year, Sankei Sports reported that Okra Publishing Company had to compensate 30,000,000 yen (about 420,000,000 won) for the unauthorized use of Big Bang’s photos.

The case was filled after Okra published a magazine titled “The Latest Hallyu Star Special – Big Bang” but the photos they used, were not authorized by YG Entertainment.

A lawyer representing Big Bang stated: “The publishing company admitted that they used the photos without prior consent or authorization. Also, the revenues they obtained from the magazine sales, have been offset by the compensation they have to pay”, while an Okra representative stated: “We did not explicitly say that we came to a compromise”.
