Super Junior’s “Bonamana” Plagiarized by Moroccan Singers?
SM Entertainment released a statement today accusing Moroccan singers, Tiraline, for plagiarizing Super Junior’s megahit single, “Bonamana.” On August 26th, SME told local media, “This is clearly a case of plagiarism. We will contact the publisher who owns rights to this song and ask for an explanation. After we review the entire situation, we will take proper legal procedure.”
The song titled, “Matal Magribi,” was first unveiled through Tiraline’s MySpace page on February 7th. But just recently it caught the attention of K-Pop fans for its similarity to Super Junior’s “Bonamana.”
“Bonamana,” released in May 2010, is one of Super Junior’s most popular single tracks ever. It was ranked #1 on Taiwan’s online chart for 63 consecutive weeks. Super Junior, meanwhile, came back with their new single, “Mr. Simple,” earlier this month, which has swept various Korean music charts.
Here are the videos of the two songs. Do you think “Bonamana” got plagiarized?
