JYJ to Sing at Closing Ceremony of 2011 World Championships in Daegu

JYJ has been named to sing at the closing ceremony of the 2011 IAAF World Championships which will be held on September 4th.

“JYJ’s popularity continues to grow following their worldwide showcase and concert. We’re consistently receiving love calls for JYJ to attend these global events,” C-JeS Entertainment said in a statement.

The IAAF World Championships is one of the largest track and field competitions held biennially. This year’s event is being held in the southern city of Daegu from August 27th to September 4th.

JYJ is continuing to expand its presence across global events and goodwill efforts. On August 26th, JYJ was also named the first Korean goodwill ambassadors to the Asia-Pacific region of the United Nation’s program for HIV/AIDS, UNAIDS, during the 10th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific in Busan.

In addition, the pop trio donated 1,000 NukAlerts, or radiation detectors, to the Japanese city of Souma to help the relief effort. They already sent 500 to the government office on August 12th and the remaining half will be shipped on August 31st.
