Shinhwa Shin Hye Sung's Album is #9 on the Oricon Charts

Shinhwa lead vocalist Shin Hye Sung proved his Hallyu star power again by getting into the top 10 of Japan’s Oricon Chart on the same day as the release of the Japanese license version of his 4th album “The Road Not Taken.”

As a singer of Liveworks Company, Shin Hye Sung’s Japanese license album was officially released on August 31, and hit #9 on the Oricon Chart on the same day. What’s more, this feat is achieved although Shin Hye Sung did not promote the album in Japan nor hold events for it. Earlier on August 5, the same album’s Taiwanese license version had risen to #1 on Taiwan charts as well, proving the international appeal of Shin Hye Sung as one of the pioneers of the Hallyu. The popularity of the Japanese license album is likely because it contains the Japanese version of the album’s title song “Tick Tock” (“Jjaegak Jjaegak“) as well as a remake of “Just Because… I Missed You” (“Tada… Aitakute“), originally written by  Kiyokiba Shunsuke, former vocalist of J-pop group “EXILE.” Shin Hye Sung will also be releasing a single featuring a duet with Kiyokiba Shunsuke on October 5.

Back in Korea, Shin Hye Sung will be holding a 2-day concert, “SHS 2011 Tour in Seoul – The Road Not Taken Act II,” at Kyunghee University on September 3 and 4.
