Bae Yong Joon, Won Bin, Lee Young Ae, Go So Young: The Return of the Kings and Queens
People are looking forward to seeing Bae Yong Joon back in dramas. Representatives from his agency, Key East Entertainment, though, have stated that, “There have been no final decisions regarding his comeback. However, we have received scenarios of a number of dramas and movies and are considering what roles he will take…he may be able to take on a project as early as in the first half of the next year.”
As of now the strongest candidate is the sequel to the highly popular drama “Dream High.” He is set to produce the first episode of the new drama and will, as he did with the first season, also make a special appearance as President Lee. If he does make a comeback next year, it will be his first role in five years since starring in “Legend.”
It appears that Won Bin will be making his comeback in dramas as well. After the great success of last year’s movie, “The Man from Nowhere,” there has been much anticipation and interest regarding his next project. There have even been rumors that he was going to branch out into Hollywood but representatives have stated that he’s put his Hollywood debut on hold and is focusing on choosing his next domestic project. Currently, he is reported to be considering whether to accept to star in a drama slated to be aired next year.
Lee Young Ae, who has become the mother of twins, is also tentatively preparing for her comeback.
One representative from the movie industry has stated, “Lee Young Ae has only been taking a break because of her marriage and pregnancy; she has no intentions of ending her career and has continually been looking over suitable projects for her comeback. It may be possible for her to make a comeback in the first half of the next year when her children celebrate their first birthday”. Her last project, the movie “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance” was released in 2005.
Go So Young, who also became a mother in October of last year, is also on the lookout for her next project. She has already made a subtle comeback into the entertainment industry with a CF and displayed her beauty, unchanged by her pregnancy. She is open to both movies and dramas and is expected to make a comeback next year. Her last projects were the drama “Blue Fish” and the movie “Go Go Sister” of 2007.
Furthermore, Jang Dong Gun will be making his comeback in the movie “My Way,” to be released towards the end of this year. Song Hye Gyo will be seen on the big screen with “La Quotidienne,” opening in October. Go Hyun Jung will also return “Miss Go Project.”
