Legendary Singer Cho Yong Pil to Appear on MBC "I Am a Singer"

Cho Yong Pil will make an appearance on MBC’s “Sunday Night – I Am a Singer (IAAS).” Known as the “godfather of singers,” Cho Yong Pil held many sold-out concerts and stopped appearing on variety shows since the early 90s.

However, in an April episode of MBC’s “Star Audition – The Great Birth,” he made a rare appearance to encourage audition contestants at the recording studio. Since that appearance in April, the production team has been trying to invite him on IAAS, which he finally agreed. He will appear during the second performance of the 7th Round of IAAS, which will be recorded on Sept 19, in an episode called the “Cho Yong Pil Special.”

The 7th Round of IAAS consists of new participant Kim Kyung Ho, who will be joining Insooni, Jang Hye Jin, Jo Kwan Woo, Bobby Kim, Jaurim and Yoon Min Soo. In the second performance of that round, they will be singing songs by Cho Yong Pil. The man himself will appear and sing together with them on the show, while talking about the songs which they had sung earlier.

The IAAS “Cho Yong Pil Special” will air on Sunday, Sept 25.
