Kara’s Gyuri to Step Down from MBC Radio's "Shim Shim Ta Pa"

Kara member Park Gyuri will be putting a stop to her DJ activities on MBC’s radio show “Shim Shim Ta Pa” after a year and five months on Oct. 2.

According to her management company DSP Media, Gyuri has been emceeing her radio show with a lot of passion. However, she had to give up the radio show as it was judged that she might become a drawback to the show due to an increase in Kara’s international activities.

Currently, Gyuri has to carry out increased foreign activities, with both her Japanese performance of “200-Pounds Beauty” and Kara’s activities outside the country with their international album.

Since she had to step off the program to focus on overseas activities, there still is the possibility of her returning to “Shim Shim Ta Pa” later on.

Gyuri’s successor has not been decided yet, so Super Junior’s Shindong will be continuing the show by himself at the moment.

Currently, Gyuri has been pursuing activities within Korea with Kara’s 3rd official album “STEP,” which has achieved a musical program ‘all-kill’ by taking #1 on SBS “Inkigayo,” Mnet M! Countdown,” and KBS “Music Bank.”
