Project group, Homme, which consists of 2AM’s Changmin and 8eight’s Lee Hyun, teams up with top producer Hitman Bang once again with a special single album titled, “Homme By Hitman Bang”. The album includes title track, “Laughing Because I’m a Guy”, “Obvious Love Song”, and last year’s hit number “I Was Able to Eat Well”.

The album begins with the title track, “Laughing Because I’m a Guy”, an upbeat ballad number about a man laughing on the outside as he bids a lover goodbye. The song depicts a man’s true feelings at a time of breakup. The two singers hit all notes with much ease, proving fans once again that they have what it takes to be a true singer.

The album continues on with “Obvious Love Song”, a medium tempo song about the importance of love over money. Personally, I found this song to be a medley of Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” and Kim Jong Gook’s “Loveable”, with CN Blue’s style of music. Despite Homme’s vocal talents, the lack of originality of the song was an automatic turn-off for me.

The last song is “I Was Able to Eat Well”, the project group’s debut track, and possibly the best song off the album. It is a medium-tempo ballad with a hint of country music. The duo harmonizes well as they sing about being unable to forget a past lover – the lyrics are very similar to their current title track’s.

In all honesty, I thought the album was a bit of a drag. I felt that Homme’s vocals could have been put to better use, but that’s just me. I do have to give props for the singers and their ability in harmonizing and bringing these songs to life. However, fans of Homme and K-Pop, especially those who wanted to hear more from the two singers, should give these songs a try.
