JOO Debuts as Lead Actress in Musical "Youthful March"

JYP Entertainment‘s solo female artist, JOO, has been selected as a leading actress in a musical and will be begin performing this November.

JYPE reported that “JOO was cast as the leading actress in a musical ‘Youthful March’ scheduled from November 12 to January 29, 2012.”

The musical “Youthful March” is a story of Youngsimi who has grown to a performance PD at the age of 33, and a famous comic character in the 1990s. The musical contains many popular songs from the 1980s and 1990s as a kind of jukebox concert musical.

Since its debut performance in 2007, this musical has been staged four times and attracted 220,000 viewers so far. Last March, the last performance has gained much popularity in relation with a cultural revival restoration. The show will continue its encore at the end of the year, in which JOO will join in this November.

The hero, Wang Kyung Tae and heroin Oh Young Sim will be played again by Jung Sang Hoon and Lee Jung Mi respectively who played the same characters perfect in the previous performance of “Youthful March.”  JOO has been chosen as the couple of Kyung Tae and Young Sim together with Kim Do Hyun, an actor who showed a stable acting with a distinctive personality in a drama “Dream High.”

JOO will be on a musical stage for the first time and said, “I excited with my debut in the musical world. I know this is my just starting and I play a leading role so I’ll practice hard for the performance to make a good work. And I’ll push myself to present a more gorgeous and newer appearance than before as a musical actress, not a singer. I appreciate if you cheer me up.”

The performance will take place at Hyundai Art Hall of COEX Artium from November 12 to January 29, 2012.
