E-Tribe’s very own girl group, Dal Shabet releases its third mini-album this summer titled, “Bling Bling”. The girls have come before fans with a new concept by transforming into sexy disco girls. There are a total of five songs including the instrumental for the title track, “Bling Bling”.

The album begins with “Beep”, a short introduction with similar beats as the title track. The upbeat synth sounds meshed with the girls’ voices give listeners a smooth transition to the main song, “Bling Bling”. The title track is a trendy disco number with a bright and cool feel. Composed and penned by E-Tribe themselves, the girls’ cutesy vocals fits well with the lively beats. As I was listening to the song, I couldn’t help but be reminded of songs heard in animes or in purikura machines. Personally, the cuteness was a bit overwhelming, but fans may get a kick out of this.

The third track is “Dream In You”, an E-Tribe and Lee Chi Woo production. Once again, it is an upbeat dance number but with dreamier beats and background vocals as the song title suggests. There were no piercing vocals that were prominent in “Bling Bling”. The last song is “Moonlight” a bokko dance number. It is very similar to the other tracks in the album.

Overall, I wish there was a variety of genres in this album. All four tracks sounded very similar to one another, and the piercing vocals weren’t helping either. If you are a fan of dance music and cute vocals, this album is the one for you. For the rest of you, however, it might just give you a headache.
