Profits From MBC "Infinity Challenge" Song Festival CDs Will Be Used to Open a "Sharing is Caring Store"
It has come to light that the profits from the sale of MBC “Infinity Challenge – West Coast Expressway Song Festival” CDs will be used to open a “Sharing is Caring Store” in Yeongdeungpo. The point of this is to return the profits gained from the show back into society and to spread a culture of sharing within the community.
Situated in the Yeongdeungpo District Office’s public service centre, the Yeongdeungpo “Sharing is Caring Store” will stock environmentally friendly farm products produced by mentally disabled people from Ganghwa Island’s work rehab centre called “Our Village.” The “Sharing is Caring Store” will also be manned by disabled people within the Yeongdeungpo district and people living in poverty within tiny confined single rooms. The profits from the store will be used to continue operations of the store and to help the poor within the Yeongdeungpo District.
The opening ceremony for the store will be on November 8, with MBC’s President Kim Jae Chul, Yeongdeungpo Director Jo Gil Hyung and the Anglican Church of Korea’s Most Reverend Kim Geun Sang set to attend the ceremony. MBC’s announcer Moon Ji Ae has also been selected as the publicity ambassador for the store and will be hosting the day’s events. She will also be doing volunteer work for the store and will be working at the store for a day in the nearby future.
