Seo Taiji & Boys’ Lee Juno Proposes to Fiancé 23 Years Younger

On December 6, the ex-Seo Taiji & Boys member Lee Juno pulled a shocker by proposing to his 23 years younger fiancé during the first recording of SBS “Comeback Show Top 10.” The legendary dancer revealed for the first time that he’s been dating his fiancé Park Mi Ri, who’s nine-month pregnant, for a little over a year now and will get married early next year.

He said, “I finished marriage registration with a woman 23 years younger than me. We already took wedding photos and are planning to hold our wedding soon. She’s pregnant now and is expecting next month.”

“We already moved in together. On paper we’re already married, but we haven’t done the actual wedding ceremony. It’s been over a year since we dated,” he continued.

Lee Juno got emotional as he explained what took him so long to come out in public with his marriage. “The reason I couldn’t make this announcement in public was because I was afraid she might get hurt from it. We have a large age gap.”

“My father-in-law is also here, but he’s one of the biggest supporters of us. It’s not an easy wedding, but regardless of what people say, I think the love between my wife and me is most important. I think people will understand if we truly love each other. I feel the most comfortable on stage and that’s why I wanted to propose to her tonight,” he added.

Lee Juno went on to sing a love song he personally wrote for his fiancé. He also sang “August Rush” during the show.

The producer of the show later told local media that Lee Juno told the production crew in advance about his plan. “Everyone on the set celebrated the occasion together,” he said.

Lee Juno was the main dancer of Seo Taiji & Boys, the legendary 90’s pop group that is still regarded as one of the most popular groups to have modernized Korean pop music. Together with the group’s leader Seo Taiji and Yang Hyun Suk, founder and chairman of YG Entertainment, Lee Juno enjoyed incredible mainstream success as part of one of the most prominent and influential musicians in the history of Korean pop culture. After the group’s disbandment in 1996, he became a producer and professional choreographer, while also appearing on several musicals. He’s currently appearing as a contestant on SBS “Comeback Show Top 10,” where old school artists from the 90’s compete against each other in singing and dancing.

Congratulations Lee Juno!
