Kara's "Super Girl" Certified Platinum in Japan

Kara is getting ready for what will certainly be a warm year-end, as it’s just been announced that their second Japanese album, “Super Girl,” has exceeded 400,000 units in sales!

“Super Girl” was released on November 23 and has been breaking records and setting new bars with every new achievement it unlocked. In just its first week alone, it sold 275,206 units, the highest record set by any Korean girl group in Japan. Not only that, but the album also topped the rankings on daily, weekly, and monthly charts.
As of December 10, the Japanese Record Association has declared that the album has officially been certified Platinum.

This is just another achievement to add to their growing list, as their first album, “Girl’s Talk,” also exceeded 400,000 units in sales. The total number of the album units sold since their debut amounts to a cool two million, with nine releases hitting the 200,000 landmark.

Kara will be spending a busier year-end than most, with activities in both Korea and Japan. On December 12, the girls will be participating in the Christmas special recording for “Immortal Song 2″ (Hara and Gyuri won’t join them as they have other commitments).

Producers of the show said, “It will be a special stage that will show the festive atmosphere of this time of the year.”

On December 31, the girls will be spending New Year’s in Japan, as they will be participating in NHK‘s prestigious “Kohaku Uta Gassen” for the first time since their debut.
