Rain Given “Special Combatant” Award

Rain was given the “Special Combatant” award for his outstanding training results in Army. The award is only given to soldiers who can do more than 72 push-ups and 82 sit-ups in two minutes, while running 3km in less than 12 minutes and 30 seconds. You also have to hit above 90% of your shooting drills during night and day. Rain has been reported to have completed all of the steps which resulted in this award.

“Rain has always been an outstanding soldier and set a good example for everyone else. He participated in the entire training process, receiving praise from all the other trainees,” an official from Korean army told local media.

By winning this award, Rain will be given a six-night special vacation, which is yet to be known how or when it will be used. He will also be eligible to advance the ranks faster. The first celebrity to win this award was actor Chun Jung Myung, followed by Kang Ta.

Rain enlisted in the army on October 11 and will work as the training assistant at the boot camp training facility. He’s expected to complete military service on July 10, 2013.
