Park Sung Kwang to Send Kimchi to Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and Tom Cruise

Remember the comedian-turned-Kimchi-business-owner Park Sung Kwang? Just a couple days after sending a Kimchi box to U.S. President Barack Obama, he said he will continue his goodwill effort by shipping more kimchi boxes to Hollywood stars Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and Tom Cruise.

In a recent interview with tvN News, Park Sung Kwang was asked what prompted him to send the Kimchi box to President Obama. “The only address I know in the U.S. is the White House. I’m working hard to find the addresses of other prominent figures,” he jokingly said.

“I’m planning to send more Kimchi boxes to more people in not just politics, but also Hollywood stars such as Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and Tom Cruise,” he added. The show also asked, “What if the White House comes to investigate you for sending the Kimchi?” and he answered, “I would actually be thankful for arresting me. I’ll take it as my chance to debut in the States.”

On January 9, Park Sung Kwang shared a photo of a Kimchi box he sent to President Obama. On the box it said, “Kimuchi NO, Kimchi YES,” showing the proper spelling of Korea’s most common traditional dish. Park Sung Kwang launched his own Kimchi brand, “Umma Umma Kimchi,” last year, becoming a prime competitor of other celebrities, Hong Jin Kyung and Oh Ji Ho, in the Kimchi sales market.
