Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won for Upcoming Drama "The King"
Multi-entertainer Lee Seung Gi has finally announced his comeback drama. A representative of MBC confirmed that Lee Seung Gi will star in MBC’s “The King” with “Secret Garden’s” Ha Ji Won. Directed by “Beethoven Virus’s” Lee Jae Kyu, the drama is a romantic comedy set in fictional contemporary Korea where the monarchy still exists. The story is about an arranged marriage between North Korean Special Forces female operative Kim Hang Ah (Ha Ji Won) and Crown Prince Lee Jae Ha (Lee Seung Gi). “The King” had difficulty finalizing its male lead and had several rumors about Lee Byung Heon, Jo In Sung and Cha Seung Won as the possible lead.
“The King” will be Lee Seung Gi’s comeback to the small screen in two years. Back in 2010, he appeared with Shin Min Ah in “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho.” “The King” will premiere once “The Moon that Embraces the Sun,” starring Kim Soo Hyun, Han Ga In, and Jung Il Woo, ends in March.
