Ha Jung Woo "Acting with Choi Min Shik Was the Best"
On January 19, actor Ha Jung Woo talked about his experience working with senior actor Choi Min Sik at the press conference for their film, “Nameless Gangster.”
“While acting, I often feel a sense of loneliness when I’m standing in front of the camera after the action sign is given. Having to act in an uncomfortable atmosphere with such loneliness makes it that much harder. Fortunately, I met a great cast in this project, and Choi Min Sik and I regard each other with infinite trust and warmth. It was because of him that I was able to properly portray my character of Choi Hyung Bae,” Ha Jung Woo stated.
He continued, “My character is one that is betrayed by many of his friends and is forced to learn how to survive on his own in the jungle. Although he is cold and heartless, I tried to look for human traces in him, which I found in spontaneous moments. It was through those moments I tried to melt the character into something of my own.”
The movie itself is about the friendship and betrayal between a group of “Bad Boys” that try to control Busan from 1980 to 1990. Ha Jung Woo plays Choi Hyung Bae, a young mafia leader that owns the biggest gang in Busan.
The movie will hit theaters on February 2. In the mean time, check out the trailer!
