Kara’s Agency to Debut New Girl Group Through Animation Series

DSP Media, home agency to Kara and Rainbow, has announced that they will debut a new girl group through a Japanese animation series. On January 31, DSP Media held a press conference for the anime series titled, “Pretty Rhythm, Dear My Future,” and showcased the teen group for the first time.

The group, tentatively called “DSP Girls,” will become the first girl group in both Korea and Japan to debut through an anime series. Comprised of Hyein (18), Shi Yoon, Che Kyung, So Min (all 16), and Jae Eun (14), DSP Girls have already appeared in several commercials prior to their debut, including those for Nintendo and Whisper.

The new anime series, “Pretty Rhythm, Dear My Future,” is about girl group trainees and their journey to become a star celebrity. Each member will be introduced through the show, as they slowly form a group to become star singers. Their debut single will be released simultaneously through the anime show and online stores, and once the show ends, they will promote as a “real-life” idol group.

In the show, Japanese group Prism (managed by AVEX) will also star as cartoon characters and play DSP Girls’ counterparts. “Pretty Rhythm, Dear My Future” will first air through TV Tokyo in April. The debut single of DSP Girls will be released in July.
