Lee Mi Sook to Play YoonA's Mother in "Love Rain"

Lee Mi Sook takes on another mother role. The actress, most remembered for playing Moon Geun Young’s mother in “Cinderella’s Sister” will play the older Kim Yoon Hee in “Love Rain.” She is the mother of YoonA’s present-day character Lee Hana.

YoonA will also play Kim Yoon Hee as a college student in the 1970s. She falls in love with Seo In Ha, played by Jang Geun Suk. Thirty two years later, Kim Yoon Hee and Seo In Ha reunite.

For “Love Rain,” Lee Mi Sook is expected to show a warmer and more affectionate side as she shares a nostalgic romance with Jung Jin Young, who will play the middle-aged Seo In Ha. It is a different turn for the actress who usually takes on very strong characters.

“Lee Mi Sook is the best actress there is,” local news agencies quoted “Love Rain” PD Yoon Suk Ho as saying. “Her deep thoughts and concentration as an actress will portray Kim Yoon Hee’s painful love very well.”

“Love Rain” premieres on KBS March 26.
