"The Moon that Embraces the Sun" is in Trouble as Its PD Joins MBC Strike

UPDATE: Noooooooooooooooo – MBC has confirmed that this week’s finale episodes will not air, and will be replaced by Moon/Sun specials instead.

Kim Do Hoon PD of “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” has also joined the MBC labor union strike.

A source from the MBC labor union spoke with Sports Donga on March 6 and said, “Kim Do Hoon PD from ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun’ along with three other PD’s have decided to join the labor union strike.”

The other three PDs are Kim Jin Min of “God of War,” Kim Dae Jin of “Just Like Today,” and Lee Dong Yoon of “Feast of the Gods.” These PD’s officially revealed their stance as they joined the MBC labor union strike on the morning of March 6.

The last upcoming episode of “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” is to air on March 8. Because of the high popularity of this drama (with over 40% viewership), if Kim Do Hoon PD decides to refuse to film, there might be some trouble. The episodes may not air on the expected dates.

Sources from MBC say that the episodes of “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” that are to air on March 7 and March 8 may be substituted with a special program. It is reported that for “God of War” and other dramas, there are still discussions and meetings taking place.
