Jang Geun Suk's Appearance on Chinese TV Draws in 350K Viewers

Popular actor Jang Geun Suk recently made an appearance on the Chinese variety show, “Happy Camp” which captured the attention of Chinese viewers.

Prior to the episode’s filming, nearly 350,000 fans requested tickets to the recording of the Jang Geun Suk special. The numbers were stunning as the program usually receives between 100,000 to 200,000 submissions.

Jang’s agency reported that the episode was also broadcast via the internet TV station PPS Online and drew an online audience of over 350,000 people to watch the program. The response to Jang’s appearance was explosive and further proved his popularity abroad, especially in China.

Once the show ended, “Jang Geun Suk” and “Jang Geun Suk Happy Camp” topped the real-time list for most searched for terms on Google China.

During the 90 minute special 15th anniversary show, Jang displayed his impressive sense of humor as he interacted with the five famous Chinese hosts.

Jang also mentioned his friendship with Chinese MC Huh Ji Woong. He told the story of how the two met when they went out for drinks which caused the audience to laugh. He showed his mischievous side as he taught the MC’s how to play his favorite game. He never failed to entertain as he performed the popular “Shuffle Dance” to the audience’s amusement. When an audience member got hit with a ball during one of the games Jang impressed everyone with his charm as he approached the person and asked if they were okay.

Also during his appearance Jang performed s few of his popular songs including, “Hello Hello.” Even though his songs are written in Korean, the Chinese audience sang along with him further proving his immense appeal.

Coming up, Jang Geun Suk will kick off his “2012 Jang Geun Suk Asia Tour- The Cri Show 2” which is scheduled to take place on July 7 in Seoul.
