"To the Beautiful You" Unveils Teaser Stills of SHINee's Minho
SHINee’s Minho transformed into a high jump athlete for his upcoming drama “To the Beautiful You.” Earlier today, the upcoming drama released its first teaser stills of Minho as Kang Tae Joon, a star athlete who suffers from an injury. As shown in the photos, Minho looks the part with his serious gaze, toned body, and professional attitude.
According to producers, Minho received special training from coach Kim Tae young, a former national high jump athlete and member of the Korea Association of Athletics Federations, for his role. Minho has already displayed his athleticism in various TV shows; so it didn’t take him long to catch on the sport. He surprised the cast and crew by easily jumping 180 meters.
Based on a Japanese manga, the story is about Goo Jae Hee (f(x)’s Sulli), an extreme fan girl of champion high-jumper Kang Tae Joon (Minho), who tries to make a comeback from a career-threatening injury. To help revive his career, Jae Hee impersonates a guy to attend Tae Joon’s all boys high school. The original manga had a Japanese drama created in 2007 and a Taiwanese version produced in 2006. Both versions were extremely popular, and many international fans are showing great interest in the Korean remake.
“To the Beautiful You” will replace “Ghost” on SBS this August.
