Psy’s “Korea”

Prior to his comeback, Psy released “Korea,” the official Korean fight song for the 2012 London Olympics. Using a combination of traditional Korean musical elements, modern tunes, and his energy, Psy created a song that everyone can easily sing along as they root for the Olympic team. He collaborated with the National Gugak Center of Korea and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the grand-scale project.

MtoM’s “Fly High”

MtoM’s “Fly High” is MBC’s official Olympic theme song. Written by the group’s leader, Son Joon Hyuk, the fight song is fast, energetic, and easy to sing along. Unlike other songs where the music and lyrics are recorded separately, the singers and band recorded the track simultaneously. Additionally, over fifty people came together to sing the chorus, “My Korea, Let’s go my Korea.”

Samsung Galaxy S3 “Win the Day”

48 celebrities participated in the London Olympic cheer song “Win the Day,” produced by Samsung Electronics. Nine idol groups took part in the production, including 2PM, miss A, SISTAR, 4minute, MBLAQ, ZE:A, Nine Muse, Dal Shabet and B1A4.

2PM’s “Share the Beat”

As part of their Coca-Cola CF, 2PM released a fight song called “Share the Beat” to celebrate the 2012 Olympics. The catchy, refreshing tune is sure to get you up from your seat and dance to the beat as you root for your favorite athlete.

Sunny Days’ “Glory Korea”

Rookie girl group Sunny Days released their own cheer song, titled “Glory Korea.” The track had a great combination of powerful rock sounds, fancy guitar riffs, and trendy electronic beats that blended perfectly with the members’ strong vocals.

Kim Soo Hyun’s “Marine Boy”

Kim Soo Hyun lent his voice for the Samsung Notebook Series 9 CF, which he co-stars with Olympic swimmer Park Tae Hwan. For the CF, the actor sang a short track called “Marine Boy,” a cheer song created for Park Tae Hwan. In the CF, his song plays in the background as he cheers for Korea’s “marine boy.” The actor recently traveled to London to cheer for Park Tae Hwan in person.

UV’s “Luck to Everyone”

In collaboration with SK Telecom, comedic rap duo UV released “Luck to Everyone” in order to get everyone excited for the London Olympics. Like any other fight songs, “Luck to Everyone” is a happy, optimistic song that encourages people. The hilarious music video attracted much attention as it showed UV’s Yoo Se Yoon and Muzi dancing while dressed in their best British attire. What differentiates this music video from other fight songs’ MVs is the fact that it starred regular Korean citizens rather than athletes, making it a fight song for Korea in general than just the athletes.
