Singers who have swept the music industry in the first half of this year will be bringing their star power to Thailand in October. According to reports in local news agencies, “M! Countdown” in Thailand is confirmed.

Dubbed “One Asia Tour 2012 Countdown Smile Thailand,” the concert is set to be held in Bangkok on October 4. It will be the second “Countdown” tour stop, following the performance in Japan in April, and is the first time to be held in Thailand.

The concert is expected to bring in the K-Pop groups who made a mark in the first half of the year. Super Junior, SISTAR and Infinite are among the first ones confirmed to make the tour. The line-up of idols will be added as the current “M! Countdown” weekly standings are added and compiled. The complete line-up will be announced in September.

“M! Countdown” has helped distribute the hottest in K-Pop to global audiences through its broadcaster, Mnet. The response has been particularly warm in Thailand, and Thai fans were reportedly very enthusiastic about this news.

FEOH Thai Entertainment Company, the event organizer for “M! Countdown” in Thailand said in a statement, “Many K-Pop stars have come to Thailand to hold shows and performances but it’s the first time for a concert based on a countdown charts show. It will feature the current popular singers in South Korea and the great performances can be seen live and directly in Thailand. That for us is very exciting.”

The “M! Countdown” concert will be held in Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium, where SMTOWN Live World Tour and pop superstar Lady Gaga‘s concerts were also staged. The full capacity of the venue reaches to 40,000.

“M! Countdown,” the charts show is broadcast live in Korea, as well as in the United States and Japan through Mnet USA and Mnet Japan. The show is also broadcast live through tvN across Australia and 11 Asian countries like Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia and Myanmar. Through its official web site, global.mnet.com, music fans the world over are able to stay in touch with the K-Pop scene.
