PSY Beats Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, and Nicki Minaj for Top Music Video on iTunes

PSY surpassed the likes of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, and Nicki Minaj for the most watched music video on iTunes.

On August 21, PSY topped the daily “Top Music Videos” chart on iTunes with his “Gangnam Style” MV. He achieved the feat in just three days after debuting at #2 on August 18. The most impressive part of this feat is the fact that he passed some of the biggest pop stars in the world, such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Carly Rae Jepsen, Carrie Underwood, and Nicki Minaj. Also, with “Gangnam Style,” PSY has become the first K-Pop artist to reach the top spot on iTunes’ “Top Music Videos” category.

PSY’s “Gangnam Style” has been seen more than 40 million times on YouTube since its release in mid-July. The video quickly went viral online, receiving coverage from some of the top news agencies including CNN, the Huffington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and Time Magazine.

Meanwhile, PSY is currently in the U.S. for a personal trip. During his stay, he’s also scheduled to meet with Justin Bieber and his representative Scooter Braun.
