PSY Introduced as “Korean Ricky Martin”

PSY was introduced as the “Korean Ricky Martin” on a popular U.S. talk show.

During a recent episode of Channel E! “Chelsea Lately,” the show’s comedian host Chelsea Handler gave a closing remark involving PSY and his smash hit single “Gangnam Style.”

She said, “He is a revolutionary musician, dancer, and sex symbol – he is basically a Korean Ricky Martin. And I am proud to say that Chuy discovered him after only 43 million people watched his video on YouTube.”

Of course, her whole closing commentary was intended to be funny and her tone was meant to be sarcastic, but Korean netizens have taken it the wrong way, some of them sending her hateful comments and messages for making fun of their favorite singer.

After her comments, the show ended with a group of dancers giving a performance of “Gangnam Style” on stage.

Netizens commented, “She’s so insensitive,” “Chelsea’s hot,” and “How did I miss this?”
