Netizens Doubt the Originality of T-ara's Concept for

On yesterday’s episode of mnet’sM! Countdown,” the show aired T-ara’s teaser for comeback track “Sexy Love.” The video starts with a scene of the girls posed as dolls in a box. They then slowly start moving, eventually breaking out of the plastic film of the box.

When the video hit the airwaves, many netizens expressed the familiarity of T-ara’s concept, bringing up the Wonder Girls and Girls’ Generation. They commented that T-ara’s black outfits and silver boots had the same cyber-like feel as the Wonder Girls’ in their music video for “Like Money.” Towards the second half of the video, the girls are seen wearing different colorful outfits while they express a doll-like charm through their facial expressions and stiff body movements. Many compared this to Girls’ Generation’s doll concept for their extremely popular music video “Gee.”

Meanwhile, T-ara will release their seventh mini-album “Mirage” on September 3. For their title track “Sexy Love,” they worked with songwriter Sinsadong Tiger and Choi Gyu Sung, the creators for their previous hits like “Bo Peep Bo Peep,” “Roly Poly,” and “Lovey Dovey.”
