"K-Pop Star" Baek Ah Yeon's Debut Album to Include Track By 2PM's Junsu

Baek Ah Yeon, became the first of the top 3 SBS “K-Pop Star” contestants to make her official debut. On September 5, the track list of her first album and jacket photos were revealed through Naver Music. Although Baek Ah Yeon signed an exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment, there is no song written by JYP himself in her debut album. However, this does not mean that the album lacks in quality or quantity, as other renowned musicians got together to make Baek Ah Yeon’s debut album perfect.

Baek Ah Yeon’s debut album “I’m Baek” consists of five tracks total. Popular songwriter Super Chingddai who has worked with famous artists like 2PM, miss A, Teen Top, and Kim Beom Soo, wrote the title song “Slow Song.” Several other famous songwriters participated in making Baek Ah Yeon’s debut album and contributed other tracks such as “You’re Leaving,” “Stay,” “Love, Love, Love.” Moreover, 2PM’s member Junsu (also known as Jun.K) wrote the song and lyrics of “Always” specially for Baek Ah Yeon. He even sang the song with her as a featured artist. 

JYP Entertainment commented, “As she has been training with us JYPE, she’s improved and brought out the talent and potential in her that was previously suppressed inside herself. Listeners and fans will be able to experience more emotionally appealing vocals in Baek Ah Yeon’s debut single.” 

Baek Ah Yeon’s album jacket photos were also revealed along with the track list. One can easily see the transformation Baek Ah Yeon has been through since “K-Pop Star.” She is no longer cute and innocent looking; she is now feminine and mature, allowing excited fans and listeners to anticipate the same level of maturity in her music. Baek Ah Yeon’s debut album will be released on September 10 through all major music streaming websites.
