“Saturday Night Live” Gets Saturday Night Fever for Psy on Premiere of 38th Season
On September 15, on the premiere of the 38th season of “Saturday Night Live,” rapper Psy’s hit single “Gangnam Style” was featured in a sketch and Psy even makes a cameo.
In a sketch entitled “Lids,” “Saturday Night Live” cast members Kenan Thompson, Jason Sudeikis, and host Seth MacFarlane are discontented employees working at a hat store called “Lids” who get cheered up by SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan coming out (as Psy) dancing to “Gangnam Style.”
Then, SNL cast members Taran Killam comes out as Yoo Jae Suk and Bill Hader comes out doing the pelvic thrust dance of comedian Noh Hong Chul.
Finally, Psy comes out at the end to an overwhelming audience response and masterfully shows how “Gangnam Style” is really done.
