Rated R: Get Ready for October 2012's Scary and Sexy Thrillers

Title: “Ghost Sweepers” or “The Fortune Tellers” (“점쟁이들”)

Story: A village called Uljinri has been plagued by mysterious dark happenings and spirits for years.  This year, a group of shamans gather to exorcise the spirits but end up being run out of the village by the spirits.  Only a few brave souls remain to cover the event and to try to oust the spirits.  Kim Soo Ro plays Teacher Park who is a celebrity fortune teller who relies upon traditional methods of spirit chasing.  Lee Je Hoon plays Suk Hyun who has a Ph.D. in engineering but spends his time creating demon chasing machines and uses reason to chase spirits.  Kang Ye Won plays Reporter Chan Young who gets assigned to cover the story.  Kim Yoon Hye plays Seung Hee who is famed for both her beauty and tarot-reading skills and has the ability to touch an object and gain insight into surrounding events.

Story: Hyung Do is a man who appears to be a white-collar worker or company man like any other, but is actually a hit man.  Hyung Do one day meets the wife of one of his targets, falls in love, and wants out of the profession.  But the seemingly simple decision of wanting to quit the business has severe consequences for Hyung Do and the people around him.  So Ji Sub plays Hyung Do who is the hit man who one day falls in love and wants out.  Lee Mi Yeon plays Su Yeon with whom Hyung Do falls in love.

Story: “Dangerous Liaisons” is an adaptation of the French novel of the same title, and is set in glamorous Shanghai in the 1930s.  Xie Yifan is a rich playboy who engages in a wager with social butterfly Mo Jieyu.  At a social event, Mo Jieyu, in the past content with flirting but never giving in to his charms, offers to give herself to him if he is able to seduce the 16-year old fiancée Beibei of her former lover.   Xie Yifan ups the ante and offers to seduce the innocent Beibei and his second cousin widow Du Fenyu.  Jang Dong Gun plays playboy Xie Yifan who plays with the hearts of others while trying to avoid getting played.  Cecilia Cheung plays Mo Jieyu who uses her tempting beauty to manipulate others.  Zhang Ziyi plays second cousin and widow Du Fenyu who falls for Xie Yifan.

Story: A young girl named Suni discovers a feral boy who cannot speak or read.  Suni’s mother takes the boy in and gives him the name Chul Soo.  Suni eventually begins to teach Chul Soo how to speak, read and write, and other human behaviors.  Chul Soo begins to fall in love with Suni as the only person who ever showed him true kindness and affection.  But, eventually the villagers turn on Chul Soo and Suni forces Chul Soo to escape alone.  Park Bo Young plays the young Suni.  Song Joong Ki plays the feral wolf-like boy Chul Soo.

Movie Title: “Suspect X” or “Perfect Number” (“용의자X”)

Cast: Ryu Seung Bum, Lee Yo Won, Jo Jin Woong

Story: Suk Go was once a brilliant mathematician showing great professional promise but now is high school math teacher.  Suk Go meets Hwa Sun and his daily exchanges with her are the only bright spots in his otherwise drab days.  Hwa Sun gets into a violent fight with her ex-husband and she ends up killing him in self-defense.  Suk Go helps her to cover up the killing and comes up with the perfect alibi for her.  But, Detective Min Bum smells something suspect and continues to dig deeper into the case.  Ryu Seung Bum plays the once-promising mathematician who cares for Hwa Sun.  Lee Yo Won plays Hwa Sun who is desperate to escape her circumstances.  Jo Jin Woong plays the jaded Detective Min Bum who suspects there is more than meets the eye.
