Hong Kong to Host MAMA 2012

It’s that time of the year again. MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) has found its home for 2012.

This year, the special award ceremony will be held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on November 30. It will use the same concept as last year “Music Makes One” to focus on the power of music moving beyond the region of Asia and unifying the world.

Han Dong Chul, the chief director of Mnet explained, “MAMA is Asia’s representative music awards and is more important this year than any other.”

MAMA has a long history, starting from 1999 to congratulate artists in their contributions to the Korean music market. The year 2009 brought the awards ceremony to the global stage by broadcasting in 10 other countries. 2010 was the first year MAMA was held on foreign soil. Macau had the honor of hosting the awards that year and Singapore hosted in 2011.
