Uhm Tae Woong Picks His New Project

Uhm Tae-woong has picked a small-screen drama for his next project. According to reports in local news agencies, the actor is cast in the lead role of a forthcoming historical drama, “Yi’s Biography.”

Further reports said the new SBS drama “Yi’s Biography” is about the famous historical figure Yi Sun Shin, a naval admiral of the Joseon era, who is also considered as a national hero. Uhm Tae Woong will play Yi Sun Shin, after his prior experience with historical dramas and acting ability.

“Yi’s Biography” will be under the helm of “City Hunter” director Jin Hyuk, and written by scenarist Park Jin Woo.

“Yi’s Biography” is slated for a mid-2013 release. Meanwhile, fans can catch a different side to Uhm Tae Woong as he is currently an active cast member of variety show “1 Night, 2 Days.”
