PSY Makes Yahoo's List of "Top Ten Obsessions of 2012"

Every year, search engine Yahoo compiles the hottest trending search terms in categories that commemorate the year in review. And for Yahoo’s 2012 Top Ten Obsessions list, PSY cinched the 9th spot!  

Yahoo’s excerpt on PSY attributes his success to having approximately 815 million views on YouTube, causing a worldwide sensation with his hit track “Gangnam Style.” Countless parodies of the music video can be found throughout all of YouTube. PSY also stayed at the number 2 spot for 7 weeks straight on the American Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.  

Other obsessions included book “Fifty Shades of Grey,” boy band “One Direction,” and addicting track Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe.” 

On Yahoo’s 2012 Top Searches list, the Presidential Elections ranked first place, the iPhone 5 came in second and in seventh place was the 2012 London Olympics.
